Thank you, dear reader
I'm grateful for you being here.
It’s been three weeks since I’ve launched my Substack. With Thanksgiving around the corner, I am keeping this post short and sweet—just coming here to say thank you.
Even though I wrote a lot of blog posts during my time at Google, it feels different and a little vulnerable to be posting publicly in my own voice. Whether we know each other IRL or if you stumbled across my writing here or on LinkedIn, I appreciate you being here. For those of you who unexpectedly paid me actual dollars of your hard earned money, I lack the words to express how overwhelmed and encouraged I am by your support. You are rare gems. 💎

A little gift for you
If you’re a child of the 80s and 90s, maybe you’ll remember making mix tapes. I would get so mad if a radio DJ started talking over the end of a song because that meant I would have to rewind my tape, catch the song again, and re-record it. A Spotify link isn’t quite the same as a mix tape, but I curated a cozy jams playlist and am sharing it here. Give it a listen while you’re cooking or driving this week!
My wish for all of you this Thanksgiving is that your bellies will be full of good food, your hearts overflowing with love, and that any travels will be safe. 🙏
With gratitude,
Christina
P.S.
Do you have a core memory of a song you tried to tape off the radio or a playlist you want to share? Let me know in the comments!

Ah man, I definitely spent a lot of time by the radio trying to hit record as fast as possible when something good came on. I think I particularly wanted to catch "Let's Go All The Way" by Sly Fox and "True Faith" by New Order at various points.
In "later" years, I had a DUAL casette deck, which meant I could just record the radio for an hour at a time, and if something good came on, I could just transfer it to a 2nd tape!
Truly a marvel of technology. 😅
